Four years have passed. I still remember that time clearly. Early in the morning I was still lying in bed sleeping. Suddenly there was a video call. I was surprised by the very thin sleeping clothes that stuck to my body. Didn’t realize I immediately received a video call. Ah, I was so surprised that day. Good morning, sorry, who are you? I asked him. I still thought for a moment, the figure of that man was like Ikang Fauzi, Indonesian Artist. Sorry, are you Ikang Fauzi? Oh no! I am an admirer of your work.

I’m embarrassed, sorry you sent Ikang Fauzi. You know him, right? the Indonesian artist. Yes, but I am what I have said, one of the thousands of people in TL who are amazed by your way of critical thinking through your writing, little brother.

Oh! Sorry, bro, sorry again. It’s okay sister. Salute you, little brother, I hope you continue to write so you can inspire many people, said the older brother. Suddenly I jumped out of the bedroom because I hadn’t realized that I was communicating with my sister in transparent sleeping clothes.

We started talking and getting to know each other on the first day via video call. Getting out of bed I apologized to my older sister because I accidentally wore pajamas when the communication was taking place.

Not long after I said, I’m sorry, older sister, I changed clothes and washed my face then had breakfast first. After breakfast, we’ll continue chatting to get to know each other, brother, I said. Salute you and your work. “Continue to write,” said his older brother, who debuted via video call. Thank you, brother, I answered as I walked towards the table for breakfast.

Day after day our communication continued. From one cellphone to another because cellphones are often replaced due to damage. However, I always keep the WA number. We chat and get to know each other like intellectual people. Sometimes we discuss my work, sometimes we discuss my brother’s perspective on political issues.

He is one of the older brothers who is 12 years older than me. During the chat I was proud of his character who respects women. Not like other men who chat too much. As time goes by, we respect each other like friends, companions and intellectuals. We share ideas about the future of our beloved country Timor Leste.

Many people are afraid of politics but like to protest. I’m different from those people. I actually think that even though I don’t like being involved in the world of politics, I want to contribute my ideas to any party that needs them because all parties have good goals for the future of the country, even if the choice is that some will win and some will be in the political arena.

One day this older brother asked me, Dev, what party are you from? I answered that my party was brains, hands and knowledge or OTP. The brother laughed while video calling. Dev, how come your party’s shii is OTP. Yep, because leaders without these three things, the value of development will not be visible in the development era. That’s right, little brother.

Proud and salute you, little brother. You are extraordinary, Dev, said his older brother. Thank you for your appreciation, brother. You’re welcome. We often spend hours communicating via the internet because my sister lives in the District while I am in Dili.

Nothing has changed while we have been in a long distance relationship via the internet. Our friendly relationship is considered healthy without any contamination of feelings like other people who chat with me and is certainly a good example for the future.

I feel like he is an older brother who has broad insight. I was proud and even saluted when I became friends with him. I often call hi brother Ikang Fauzi because from the first day I met him from a video call I was really surprised because I thought he was Fauzi. Healthy communication via the internet from the first day to two years of relationship.

One day, Ikang Fuazi’s older brother asked, Dev, if during the campaign period you could help your older brother with useful writings whose aim was inseparable from the party program. OK, boss, I said to my brother.

There are several words in your post on your personal timeline that contain positive and constructive elements, Dev. Which is what I said. Then Ikang Fauzi’s older brother sent those words back. He just used it because in our country there is no article that regulates it so it’s free for you to use whichever idea you like during the campaign period. Thank you sweet sister!

Our friendship has become more meaningful and has its own value. We often discussed which ideas were appropriate so that we could contribute to development like the younger generation in TimorLeste.

Until finally one day during the campaign period, Ikang Fauzi’s older brother asked me to provide an idea for a campaign program in my older party’s party. I didn’t reject it because for me all parties have the same goal, namely the interests of the people and the country.

Until one day, my cellphone broke when I finished campaigning. I lost my number when our friendship reached three years. I felt like I had lost the insightful person I knew in my life at that time.

Communication stopped at that moment. When this happened, I actually joined another party because they needed me to write articles and consultation news, so we were really busy and we never communicated again since my cell phone broke.

The campaign period was over and the election was starting to take place. In the end, Fish Fauzi’s brother’s party got a place, including the party I covered and even wrote an article about. Being busy with our respective activities, our communication is really no longer sustainable when the age of friendship reaches four years in 2024.

I only focus on my work even though many people say, why keep writing if writing in TimorLeste is not facilitated by government. I just kept quiet because for me the dog was barking. The caravan passed because writing for me was not just a hobby but a very meaningful profession.

Never get discouraged by what people say. I don’t have time for other problems out there that have absolutely no benefit to me. I remain focused on writing and writing because for me writing is a vitamin for me personally.

My brother Ikang Fauzi and I never chat again because his WA number has been deleted from my damaged cellphone. So I focused on writing, I didn’t know whether my brother could still read my writing or not. What was clear was that our meeting took place thanks to the internet as well as the results of my writing. via the internet.

We didn’t greet each other anymore like the initial meeting because I realized that Brother Juba must be busy taking care of the party program because he is one of the insightful intellectuals in this country.

Finally, in the middle of 2024, Ikang Fauzi’s brother suddenly gave confirmation via WA when I was already using another cellphone. All chats have been deleted because I have changed cellphones. Brother said that in a month or two I would go to Dili, he said.

What for? I asked my sister. I got the opportunity to move my career to Dili. Support me, answer me. If I’m in Dili, can we meet face to face, said Brother Fish Fauzi. Yes, just look, I hope I’m brave because I think it’s better to just help each other with ideas via the internet, bro.
No, we don’t have to be face to face, okay. We’ll see when you’re in Dili.

I had bad luck again because my cellphone was broken again so my brother’s number was deleted again at that time. No more communication until 08/19/2024. At that time I joined my son’s cell phone. Rarely chat because of the holidays. I want to enjoy my holiday because in September the course starts again. Suddenly I wanted to check chat from work Facebook.

A WA number was sent from Ikang Fauzi’s brother’s Facebook. He tells Dev where he is. I explained what my real condition was like. We chatted again that day. Ikang Fauzi’s brother has worked as an advisor and he said that thanks to Dev I am finally in Dili City.

Ah, not thanks to Dev, but because of your insight and your soul who truly sincerely loves this country, I said to my brother. He then said, have you forgotten your promise to me? I was surprised because I completely forgot what I had promised to Ikang Fauzi’s brother. Sorry, I forgot what I promised you to brother because all chats have been deleted, brother.

Dev, have you forgotten that when I succeed in taking office you will always be a WHITE DOVE WHO DOESN’T BREAK YOUR PROMISES who is ready to help me. Oh I see, sorry because I was busy writing so I forgot to tell Brother Fishing Fauzi.

I promise I will help you Dev because personally I can’t forget the kindness of people towards me and I promise I will immediately help you Dev said brother Ikang Fauzi to me.

Finally we communicated again, although it was still via the internet, just like when we first established a friendly relationship. Our friendship was finally reconnected and I am grateful that there is a senior brother who was able to name me MERPATI WHITE all because of my work through a series of words in each of my posts.

Thank you, Brother Ikang Fauzi for your presence in the city of Dili. I hope that you will be more successful in the future by prioritizing the interests of the people and the country, like my concept to you that this country has eyes, ears and a mouth, so don’t ever think about committing corruption if you say that because of Dev’s blessing, you are now in the city of Dili. and be a good servant as said by the owner of the concept that I gave to my brother. Remember, TimorLeste has eyes, ears and a mouth, so when you work, be a good servant and don’t make other people’s property our own. message from someone extraordinary, brother. Thank you Dev said his brother. Now we are back to communicating like brothers and sisters as Ikang Fauzi said.

That’s when communication was connected again even though we didn’t know each other in the real world. I know that I once promised that I would always be there if my brother was elected and that promise is being taken back by the uncle who I once knew was Ikang Fauzi.

It is true that one of the advantages for us in choosing the writing profession is that we can find friends. Our new knowledge and relationships are clear evidence that we don’t just write, but write based on our existing motivation.
